In January 2009, I was proud of my 60 followers on Twitter. I had connected with other real estate agents in Washington State and some influential people in the real estate industry. It is mind boggling how much Twitter has grown in the past 9 months. Currently, I have over 1000 followers and I follow over 700 people. I am not just looking for large numbers. I follow people that are in real estate, are influential in the real estate and social marketing world, are into boating, and are just plain interesting. I block many people that follow me.
I just turned in a clockhour class to the Department of Licensing and I am waiting for approval. The class called “Twenty Questions on Twitter” covers most of the basic information about Twitter.
There are thousands of Twitter applications giving you the ability to search, add photos and videos, and use it to make better connections. I asked @JimReppond from Coldwell Banker Westlake about the twitter applications that he uses and recommends. He came up with a fast list.. which he sent via Twitter.
Twitter keys little icons to add
TwtVite to invite people to an event
TwtPic to shorten url to add photo
Twitter search and advanced search to find people in areas or with common interest
HotTweeters
Twitter Gram
TwidVid to share videos
TwitterSnooze to tell popel that are maybe spamming to go away for awhile
ScreenR to show screencasts
Hashtags.org to see the topic that are being talked about
Twitter Karma maybe says what it means
Twit Good for picture sharing
That is a run down without the actual URL’s.. I have to get busy and check them all out! I tried to embed his ScreenR with his screen cast about this but it just wouldn’t cooperate! Next time!
